Held on the eve of International Women's Day, the event brought together all the industrial group's cooperatives to continue advancing towards a more egalitarian future.
On the eve of 8th March, International Women's Day, the employees of the Danobatgroup industrial group, its co-operatives Danobat, Goimek, Soraluce and its innovation partner Ideko met today at their headquarters in Elgoibar to reaffirm their firm commitment to equality.
Organised by the group's Equality Committee, the event was attended by more than 100 people from across the organisation. The day’s program was also streamed live from Goimek and Soraluce facilities.
The conference was opened by Nerea Aranguren, General Manager of Danobatgroup, and Maider Martín, Human Resources Manager at Danobat. "In our group—and in the industry as a whole—we still have some way to go in terms of equality. However, it is also important to recognise and appreciate the progress we have already made. Our cooperative model has made this work much easier, but meaningful change never happens by chance. In recent years, we have advanced thanks to clear guidelines set out in our equality plans," reflected Aranguren.
It should be noted in this regard that all the cooperatives in the group have their own equality plan in order to continue taking steps towards a more egalitarian future through actions such as this one.
Afterwards, comedian Beatriz Egizabal performed her stand-up comedy routine 'Magma mia!' in Basque, offering a humorous and critical reflection on how patriarchy influences women's bodies and daily lives, viewed from the perspective of a middle-aged woman.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Francisco Javier Fernandez, President of Goimek, and a group photo with all the attendees from the three companies.
