SORALUCE S. Coop., a part of the DANOBATGROUP will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2012, which coincides with the International Year of Co-operatives. The main events will be held on 27th and 28th April, although the 50th anniversary Committee intends to carry out different initiatives throughout the year.
Countdown has already started and the co-operative located in Bergara is preparing their 50th anniversary enthusiastically. To this effect, they have started several activities during 2011; and precisely with the aim of starting to celebrate their 59th anniversary, they have organized and held a logo competition for the 50th and another competition for sculptures. Logo Competition The logo competition aimed at the co-operative group, has had a very high participation with 45 works presented, and a highly acceptable level on average. The winner was Jorge Castaño, who received an iPad, and two nights with breakfast included and one dinner at a rural hotel. Challenging the future The second competition in relation to sculptures, which has already been held, was won by Javier Muro from Pamplona with his sculpture entitled ‘Challenging the Future’. A work of art whose creative base coincides with the moment the co-operative is living at present, and which captures its philosophy. Muro has captured the values of the past and the future, to blend them with the challenges the co-operative wishes to tackle using as a reference the idea of people united walking the path. During 2012, SORALUCE S.Coop. will be presenting a book which includes their 50 years’ of existence in addition to organizing different activities, with a clear aim, i.e. the social mass of the co-operative will be the leading protagonist of this anniversary.
