Roger Collen joins Danobat Inc.
Roger Collen has joined Danobat Inc. as Railway Product Manager. In this position he is responsible for market development, sales efforts, and marketing of Danobat Railway products in North America. Danobat Inc. is a member of the Danobat Group of Elgoibar, Spain. Since the 1950s Danobat has designed and manufactured grinding machines and lathes, as well as complete production lines for high value parts manufacturing. Danobat Inc has been active in the US since 1982 delivering Danobat products to US customers. In 1986 Danobat developed their first railway product. The success of this installation prompted Danobat to create a railway business unit and expand the products offered to the Rail Industry. To date, Danobat has railway products installed all over the world.
Collen has over 35 years of experience in the design, sales, project management, and construction of specialized equipment for the maintenance and service of rail vehicles. He started his railway career with Simmons Machine Tool Corporation (currently NSH-USA) in 1986. In 1999 he became the Product Manager for the Macton Corporation (currently BBM) and in 2005 he returned to Simmons as VP, Sales. Collen has been involved in supply of equipment for rail vehicle maintenance facilities all over the world.
Danobat CEO Xabier Alzaga noted, “Mr. Collen’s unique position of market knowledge and previous employment will make him an asset to Danobat”. Danobat Railway Business Unit Manager Oskar Uria stated, “his technical experience will support our goal of expanding in the North American market”.
Collen has been a member of the Locomotive Maintenance Officers Association, Shop Equipment and Processes Committee and has participated in the Association of Public Transportation committees.
