Danobatgroup welcomes a delegation from Nouvelle Aquitaine
  • The industrial group hosted a visit on Tuesday from a delegation led by Alain Rousset, President of the French region, to explore collaboration opportunities.

On Tuesday, 5 November, a significant institutional and business delegation from the French region of Nouvelle Aquitaine visited the facilities of Danobatgroup, a leading industrial group in the machine tool sector.

Nerea Aranguren, Managing Director of Danobatgroup, welcomed the delegation, led by Alain Rousset, President of the region, together with key Basque Government representatives, including José Luis Azkue, Director of Industry and Energy Transition, and Ainhoa Ondarzabal, Managing Director of Basque Trade & Investment (part of the Spri group).

During the visit, the delegation gained insights into Mondragon's cooperative model from Ander Etxeberria, Director of Cooperative Dissemination at the Mondragon Group. They also explored Danobatgroup's industrial vision and history with Nerea Aranguren and discussed the challenges of the sector regarding the recruitment of talent with Iker Usabiaga, Danobatgroup's Director of Social Management.

The visit concluded with a tour of both Danobatgroup’s facilities and the Ideko research centre, the group's hub of innovation.

This visit was part of a broader business mission to the Basque Country on 5–6 November, aimed at identifying collaboration opportunities between Nouvelle Aquitaine, the Basque Country, and Navarre.

Nouvelle Aquitaine is France’s largest region by area, situated in the south-west and home to approximately six million people across 12 départements, with Bordeaux as its capital. It is a diverse and dynamic region, where tradition meets modernity and has established itself as a key driver of economic and cultural growth in France, with major sectors in aerospace, technology, and innovation.

The region actively participates in cross-border cooperation, especially with the Basque Country and Navarre, through ongoing collaborations in tourism, transport, research, and sustainable development, particularly in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques area.
